Welcome

 First grade is lots of fun. Reading, Math, Science...we do it all! We are all working very hard this year and are learning lots of new things. We even have homework every night. We hope you enjoy your visit!

 What We're Learning:

 

Religion: In Religion: Jesus (his stories, his followers,) and Jesus Tells About God.

Math: Math: Addition and Subtraction (1 & 2 digit numbers,) Data and Graphs, Place Value and Patterns, Money,Time, Measurement, Geometry, Fractions.

 

Phonics: Initial and Final Consonants, Long & Short Vowels, Consonant Clusters, Digraphs,R-controlled vowel, Contractions and Possessives, Inflected Endings.

 

  

Handwriting: Lowercase and Uppercase Letters, Circle, Curve, Slant manuscript

 

 

Language Arts: Language Arts, Readiness, Listening and Speaking, Sorting and Sequencing, Rhymes, Sentences, Dictionaries, Writing Sentences, Naming Words, Action Words, Position Words, Poems, Describing Words, Letter Writing.

 

Social Studies: Social Studies: School, Families, Needs & Wants, Work, Neighborhoods and Communities, Our Country, Holidays, Maps,

 

Spelling: Spelling: Spelling words will begin in November and will always be placed on the website. I will give new words every Friday for the following Friday's test.
