Grades

The following is the scale used for Third Grade grades.

93-100 = +

85-92 = S+

77-84 = S

70-76= S-

0-69= failure represented by a check

Homework

Students in third grade will generally not have more than 20-30 minutes of home work, with the exception of a special project.

Students are expected to write all assignments in assignment notebook. The class has the assignment board with all daily work and test dates posted . Students are expected to complete the assignments for the next school day unless given extended days. Parents are required to sign the assignment note book for the first two months of school in order to establish a set routine of daily use. Children should have established a responsibility of recording assignments by November , yet some students may require parental signatures for an extended period of time.

If a child is absent a student will record missing assignments and the child is given a day for each day of illness. Children who have missing work not due to illness must complete all missing work to avoid a negative affect on their academic assessment. There will be no penalty for late work unless it is reoccurring and for long periods of time.

 Birthdays

Children may bring in a treat to celebrate their birthday. If their birthday falls during the summer they may choose a date to bring in a treat. Many children choose their half birthday or feast day to do this.
