Expectations
Philosphy of Education:
Children learn by exploring a rich
enviornment which is designed to stimulate the child's sensory
development--to use eyes, hands, ears, mouth, nose, and the whole
body---to gather information about a world that is safe, inviting, and
nourshing, of mind and spirt. When teachers can be patient, planful,
good-humored, and curious, children identify with them and do
likewise. In such a place, where self - respect and respect for
feelings, needs and rights of others is valued, children can thrive
on encourging relationships that create attitudes of sharing,
resourcefulness, taking initiative, contributing to the common good,
and flexible problem - solving.
Curriculum is designed to develop
childrens's knoweldge and skills in all developmental areas -
physical, socîal, emotional, and intellectual, and to help
children learn how to learn-to establish a foundation for lifelong
learning.
