Homework Policy
1. Homework should be turned in on time. Work turned in on time will receive full credit.
2. Illness or absence due to family trips, medical leave, etc. will be dealt with separately. Makeup assignments/ tests not completed due to illness will be accepted for full credit when turned in within a reasonable time frame, which will be determined on an individual basis. Makeup assignments/tests missed due to vacation must be turned in the first day the student returns to school in order to receive full credit.
3. Late work turned in will receive 80% credit if it is turned in on the next day. Work turned in any later than 24 hours will be accepted and marked as received but will not receive any credit. This work still needs to be turned in prior to the end of the quarter in order to earn a passing grade.

Discipline
GFG's
Great Fourth Graders are earned for positive behavior. The students earn and collect GFG's and trade them in for any one of a variety of rewards that they choose.

PROJECTS
We will be working on 2 projects this fall. The students are currently working on a Rain Forest project. The 4th graders will be responsible for writing a research paper on the topic of Rain Forests. They will do their research in technology and library classes. The project will be done in school. The second project will begin towards the end of October. We will be starting our Invention Convention. This project will be done at school and at home. We will keep you posted through the web site as well as the Homework Depot.
Reading - We are using a new series this year called Reading Street by Scott Foresman
