We use a reading series entitled: Reading Street. In this series, we will be reading parts of stories, both fiction and nonfiction, and working on vocabulary, comprehension, and written response. We are beginning the first unit entitled "Meeting Challenges" which has stories about people who faced challenges in their lives, both big and small ones. The next unit is called "Doing the Right Thing". The stories will be about people and the choices they had to make.

The students will be reading novels. In September they will be reading Swindle. The books are read and discussed during library time with an ending project.
