Reading

Centers: After finishing each story from the textbook, students work on individual and group activities connected to the story and current class novel. During this time, students can work on computers, vocabulary, related reading, or writing activities related to the story. Students are responsible for keeping their center work organized in their center folders. Centers are always due before we start a new story.

Reading Street: This winter, students are working through the first unit in the reading series, which focuses on doing the right thing even when it's more challenging. We complete one story every 1-2 weeks, and the students are responsible for tests, homework, and center work that is done in small groups.

Novel Study: While we work through the reading series, the students also read novels.
