Sixth Grade Math  

Topics we will cover this year:   Problem solving and number investigations   Data and graphing   Computation of decimals   Number patterns   Fractions, ratios and percent   Geometric concepts such as patterns, area and volume   Algebraic concepts will be integrated throughout the year, and explored in depth during the second half of the year

 

All students can succeed in Math. Following these guidelines will help us make the best use of class time:

• Do most math homework independently and bring your questions to class.
• Look around you for math - it's everywhere!
• Explore number relationships and practice mental math.
• Always ask yourself, "Is this a reasonable answer?"
• Play games at home that help you develop those mental math skills.
