It is through divine revelation, that we come to know God through the knowledge God has of himself. The gift of faith enables us to respond to this divine revelation. Creed: A Course on Catholic Belief, will help us filfill our mission: We are the Church, the people of God. It is the publishers' hope that FAITH AND WITNESS will strengthen the social, moral, and spiritual character of junior high youth.This is accomplished by:
- Building upon children's life experiences
- Fostering family involvement
- Developing a personal spirituality and involvement with liturgical prayer
- Fostering religious literacy
- Encouraging moral development
- Challenging students to experience faith in a spirit of joy
The 7th graders are members of the Church community. As members of the community, they have rights and responsibilities. They work on understanding those responsibilities by providing service hours each quarter; a minimum of seven hours per student. The service hours may be in the area of: Family, School, Parish, and Community. It is hoped that the service hour requirement will encourage students to become caring, compassionate adults.
Confirmation: This year the 7th grade student will begin preparing for the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation. The sacrament will be received in the fall of 8th grade.
