Homework
Homework should be expected on most nights, and can consist of reading, writing, studying, researching, or reviewing. Even if no assignment is given students should view this as a chance to review, or get ahead. Some assignments will be given the day before they are due, others will be given well in advance. Students should plan ahead and use their time wisely. They are responsible for keeping track of all homework. To aid them assignments will be written on the board in class, and online at the homework depot. The only completely effective method of keeping track of homework is with the personal assignment notebook. No excuses accepted.
Make Up Work
After a student misses a day of school they should contact their homework helper for what they missed, and receive all missed handouts from the absence folder. All work that was due on the day missed is due on the first day they return. The students will have one day of flextime for each day missed. I will meet with the students to discuss an appropriate timeline for extended absences.
Discipline
If a student violates the school discipline code they may receive a punishment. This can include a written assignment or a detention to be served after school on the next Tuesday or Thursday. Two warnings will be given before the detention is issued, unless the offense warrants otherwise.
