Mary Mentors

 

In order to offer academic help to our younger students through the Mary Mentors program, we would like to offer the 7th and 8th graders an opportunity to volunteer to serve our school family. We are looking for students to make a commitment on a regular basis to work as tutors with younger students. The program will be held in the library on Tuesdays from 2:45-3:30, beginning October 16. Mrs. Dylik and Ms. Mayer will moderate this group in the library, and at least one of them will be present at each session. Parents, please discuss with your child his/her ability to honor the weekly commitment, particularly as the school year progresses and the youngerstudents grow accustomed to working with the same older students each week.

I agree to allow my son/daughter to stay after school on Tuesdays beginning October 16 to tutor a younger student. If my son/daughter is unable to tutor on a given day, I will notify one of the moderators by note, telephone, or e-mail.

PARENT SIGNATURE

I understand that I am making a commitment to tutor on a weekly basis. If I am absent without a parental excuse more than twice, I risk losing my place in the program.
