The LEAD program provides before and after school supervision for students of working parents.
A.M. LEAD
The morning LEAD program begins at 7:00 A.M. Students will enter the building at the east door. There is a doorbell just outside the entrance to the classrooms. There is no food allowed, so students need to eat breakfast before the program. Children have games and social time. Older students may choose to study. The older students bring younger children to the classroom at 8:00 A.M.
P.M. LEAD
The after school program is from 2:30 - 6:00 P. M. Students bring a healthy snack each day. The children will eat their snack when they arrive at the LEAD program outside the gym.
Snack time is from arrival until 3:00 P.M. Students will play outside from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. when the weather permits. During inclement weather students will play in the gym until 3:45 P.M.
After play time students divide into two groups. Kindergarten- second grade will go to Mrs. Zawisza’s room to have quiet time and play. Students in grades 3 and up will go to the LEAD/Spanish room to begin their homework in a quiet environment. Students may seek help with problems they do not understand. When a student is finished with all their work they may have quiet free time to play games, or read.
The younger children will return to the LEAD/Spanish room at 4:30 P.M. They may play quietly until they are picked up.
There is no after care on half days and no before or after care on days when school is not in session.
Late Charge
A late charge will apply when any child is picked up anytime after 6:00 P.M. Sorry no excuses.
